Travel Soccer SouthCentralSoccerAcademy travel teams include U10 – U18 age groups.Multiple teams
per age group are formed when possible. Teams are formed with the intent of competing at
the highest competition level attainable for each team.Though teams are formed to be
competitive, we still view the younger age groups as developmental.To be on a top-level team in these age groups, the commitment level for the player and family increase.
Each June tryouts are held for travel teams.We would like as many players as possible
to participate at this level.However, there is always the remote possibility that we will not be
able to take all players.SCSA will do our best to place players with teams at our facility
Season Travel teams are a year long commitment for the U10 – U18 age groups. There are two
seasons, Fall and Spring with Winter training.The Fall season runs from August through the
end of October and the Spring season begins in March and ends in mid June.Depending on
the game schedule, practices could begin a few weeks prior to the beginning of the season.
The U15 – U18 age groups participate in the Spring season only, with Winter training sessions beginning after the IndianaHigh School season ends.
Travel teams typically practice two nights per week during the Fall and Spring season. High level teams may practice three times per week. Winter training sessions, usually one night per week, are part of the program with the possibility of playing in an indoor soccer league (usually voluntary).
Coach Coaches are assigned the responsibility to oversee each individual team and to provide the
training and coaching needed during the Fall and Spring seasons.The majority of coaches are paid coaches.
Season Teams play the number of games assigned by the respective league they are participating in.It could be anywhere from six to ten games depending on the league(always subject to change) Games are held primarily on Saturday and Sundays and if necessary, during the weeknights.
Teams will participate in tournaments. SCSA at Center Grove Soccer Complex provides two
tournaments for our teams to participate in. Nightmare at the Rock in the Fall and the
Classic at the Rock in the Spring. Travel teams, typically will participate in a couple of local
and out-of-state tournaments during the season as well. The level of participation in
tournaments and location is heavily correlated to the level of team and goals they are trying
